Sadly we farewelled Miss Rolls on Friday. She did an awesome job of teaching the children during the year. Some of the highlights were the science experiments, Matariki art, creative writing and  games like musical chairs, marbles and Jenga. We wish her all the best with her future teaching!!

Toitu Trip

Hi Everyone
I have been meaning to share how successful the Toitu Trip was for a while. Apologies for the late entry. Some of the highlights from the trip were the bus ride( ofcourse), the toy treasure hunt with a map, dressing up in olden day clothes, playing with old fashioned toys, making a ball and cup game and finally visiting the Chinese Gardens. Here are a few photos from the trip.

Thank you to all the parents who came to help on this trip. The children thoroughly enjoyed it. I hope you did too!!

Learning commitments

The children have been really excited to share their learning commitments. This week Lachie and Ayden have both shared very interesting science. Lachie brought to school a small scale water filtration system that he had assembled and explained how it worked. Ayden shared today a lava lamp he and his Dad constructed at home using an empty water bottle, water food colouring oil and salt.

Book Week and Fancy Dress Parade

Hi everyone. We have a had a great week appreciating the wonderful worlds that books can take us to. I am grateful to Mrs Robertson, Mr Vinnacombe and my daughter Hannah for sharing a special story with the children in Room5. The children have also decorated our classroom door with book reports about their favourite books. The highlight of course was the fancy dress parade today which children and teachers alike both enjoyed. Tonight is the last night of the Readathon. Thank you for being supportive with this. The money will go towards new classroom readers for the school.
